I grew my first grey hair while I was 20 but two weeks ago I was really surprised to discover how grey they become! The question is: should I dye it? My hairdresser says not to do it, my husband says he loves my hair the way it is but do I feel comfortable with it?


Meanwhile the little genius, Tavi Gevinson knows how to deal with it. Maybe I will consider the option of dyeing them all grey.

I’m not taking myself very seriously with such a title like “on the shortness of life” but my mood right now it’s contemplatif. I always loved books and reading. Born and lived in the countryside till the age of 14 years except from going to school and helping my parents with their work on the fields there was nothing left to do. So I start reading: first, all the books I found at home. Then I start borrowing them from the school library and during the summer I “borrowed” them from my aunt Lucia. My aunt books were for adults and I think she never knew I was reading them. Or maybe she knew but never said a word about. Sorry and thanks aunt Lucia!


I’ve been always searching for “The Book”. The one will unveil The Truth, who will teach me The Essence of life, who will answer my obsessive question: how to live a good life. Now, mon livre de chevet is Seneca’s essay On The Shortness Of Life. Life is long if you know how to use it.
I have found answers.

“It is not that we have a short time to live, but we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were well invested. But when it is wasted [...] on no good activity, we are forced at last by death’s final constraint to realize that it has passed away before we knew it was passing.”

This is the book who will stay forever with me: on the table, close to my eyes and my heart.

Right now I’m reading: Montaigne. How to Live: Or A Life of Montaigne by Sarah Bakewell which is about to be one of my favourite books ever.
